We’re well into fall, and everywhere you look you’ll see the beautiful, warm colors of turning leaves, pumpkins, and all the rich produce that comes with the harvest. Amidst the fall festivals, corn maze tours, and pumpkin-spice lattés, take time to harvest hope for those in need.
Food shortages and poverty afflict the USA and the world at perilous levels. Despite events beyond our control, you can be a catalyst for compassion, and empower kids to to do the same! This year we started our second year of Classroom Service Projects in AWANA, an ongoing effort to better cultivate compassion and generosity in the hearts of our kids. Each Awana class has now adopted their own monthly community or mission service projects, look for updates on these projects throughout the year. Our Children’s Ministry desires to partner with parents to give children the chance to grow up in the knowledge that they can make a difference. God can work through children to reveal hope—no matter their age or location in the world!
Remember the encouraging words of 1 Timothy 4:12: Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity.
