Children’s & Family Ministry

Kids and families of all stages and ages are loved at AHCC!

Our Mission:  Partnering with families where they’re at to help kids grow in their everyday relationship with Jesus Christ

Our Vision:  To have Spirit-filled children who know God, love God and live a life with Him.

Our Core Values:

Gospel Centered – The person and work of Jesus Christ is at the center of who we are and how we live. Every lesson points to Jesus and the Gospel.  Romans 1:15

Biblical Truth – The Bible is the Word of God and vital to our daily lives. By providing a solid biblical foundation we will equip them to know and apply the scriptures to their lives. 2 Timothy 3:15

Discipleship – We will instruct the mind, engage the heart, and equip the hands of children so that they can fulfill the Great Commission by growing into disciples who make disciples. Mark 16:15

Relationship Building – We value being known as the Family of God and children are full members. We desire to connect kids to God, His church and to one another. 1 Corinthians 12:12-13

Safety – Children will be safe and feel safe, both physically and emotionally, so parents can rest assured that their child is well cared for. Mark 10:14

Relevant – We will show children that Jesus Christ and the Gospel is part of every day and every situation. Hebrews 4:12-13

Fun – Creating a fun environment and positive memories will draw children closer to Jesus and to each other. Ecclesiastes 8:15

Discipleship Truths

We want kids to be “cemented” in the foundation of truth, especially in this world that is lost & messy.  Taking into account the experiences of kids, these simple statements are to be used as tools to point them back to God.  Every discipleship moment can address one of these truths.

  1. I am special to God, even when I don’t feel special.
  2. God is with me every day, all the way.
  3. What God thinks of me matters most.
  4. If God said it, I can trust it.
  5. God’s plans are good even when they don’t feel good.

Deuteronomy 6:5-7  Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up.

Psalm 78:4-7  We will not hide them from their descendants;  we will tell the next generation the praiseworthy deeds of the Lord,  his power, and the wonders he has done. He decreed statutes for Jacob and established the law in Israel, which he commanded our ancestors to teach their children, so the next generation would know them, even the children yet to be born, and they in turn would tell their children. Then they would put their trust in God and would not forget his deeds but would keep his commands.

Matthew 19:13-14 Then people brought little children to Jesus for him to place his hands on them and pray for them. But the disciples rebuked them.  Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.
